International Pricing Specialist - Shelton, CT or New York (JFK)
BTX Global Logistics is seeking a proven operations leader with a track record of success within the global freight forwarding industry. The International Pricing Specialist is responsible for supporting the BTX Corporate business unit operations, customer service, compliance, SOPs and KPIs. This position reports to the BTX Director of International Operations and will facilitate all global pricing opportunities. Ultimately, this position will be responsible for the quality of service and profitability of the corporate global operations teams in accordance to the company’s overall strategic goals.
BTX is seeking a driven and dynamic individual who can manage the demands of global pricing but also possesses the leadership and communication skills required to effectively interact directly with clients (as needed); mentor, train and develop members of the organization, and serve as a strategic advisor to all operating units. The International Pricing Specialist will be a key member of the BTX team and will interact across all organizational levels for BTX corporate business as well as have dialogue with BTX’s global-oriented franchise operations.
Duties Include:
- Providing pricing support for BTX retail clients as well as all global partners to include: Ocean Export and Import FCL and LCL Pricing, Ocean OOG/Project Cargo as well as associated inland components, Air Export and Import pricing support
- Negotiating with Ocean Carriers, Airlines, Truckers and other service providers for best in class rates and service
- Creating, implementing and reporting improvement of all department KPIs
- Creating SOP’s for all business lines/customersAnalyzing and improving customer satisfaction and operational performance
- Compliance functions for department in conjunction with corporate compliance department specific to TSA and FMC compliance
Summary of Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of pricing experience within the international freight forwarding or logistics transportation sector
- Undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline is highly preferred, however, relevant work experience will also be considered
- Cargo sphere and 7 L experience a plus
- Strong computer skills and analysis capabilities
- Ocean Carrier contract knowledge and understanding
- Air Routing/Carrier knowledge/Carrier Relationships
- Ability to quote both retail customers and global agents and understand the variables involved
- Project/OOG cargo pricing experience
