Domestic Operator (San Diego - SAN)
The Domestic Operator position has been created to proactively support, implement, and handle all operations aspects of our clients’ Domestic Supply Chain requirements. This position is entrusted with ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction through proper routing, costing, oversight, and solution-driven results. Reports to Domestic Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensuring phones are answered within two (2) rings with proper professional phone etiquette.
• Ensuring emails are answered and/or acknowledged within 15 minutes during business hours with proper professional email etiquette (including proper grammar and spelling).•
• Daily Tracking, tracing, and monitoring pickups, in-transit shipments, and deliveries by meeting KPI goals and entered into BTX-SHIP.
• Understanding and ensuring Points of Data Entry/Integrity are followed for each shipment according to each customer profile and/or routing specifications.
• Rate quotes must be completed within 30 minutes.
• Fully develop client’s Domestic opportunities to capture all relevant transportation revenue by providing several shipping options.
• At least 3 options must be provided for Less Than Truckloads (LTL) quotes.
• Must compare pricing with 3 carriers/brokers on all Full Truckloads (FTL) quotes.
• Entering verbal Proof of Delivery when called into the office or emailed by drivers or delivery agents.
• Uploading to Ship Hard Copy Proof of Deliveries within 24 hours.
• Ensuring confirmation of all costs/charges are accurate and based on agents/carrier’s tariff or quote.
• Invoicing/Recapping within 7 days after delivery.
• Exceed client expectations through pro-actively managing service requirements and by being one step ahead in the communication/solution driven process as it relates to shipment status and when dealing with service issues. All service issues must be communicated to customers as information is made available.
• Build relationships with vendors through consistent and organized contact.
• While working, cell phone/company phone/company computer/laptop should be used primarily for work-related communication. Employees must always be professional and conscientious when using cell/company phones. When needed for personal use, time should be held to a reasonable minimum (during break for non[1]exempt employees).
• Maintain current on BTX Cyber Security Policy

• Learning and understanding our system – Ship.
• Obtaining and Maintaining HAZMAT Certification.
• Obtaining and Maintaining TSA Testing Requirements.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, listed on the Company Manual, assigned work schedules, and attendance requirements.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education and Industry Knowledge
• High School Diploma • Knowledge of North American geography.
• Experience in the Transportation or Logistics Industry is an asset. Language, Math and Reasoning and Computer Skills
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and applications used in our industry such as volume weight.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, spreadsheets, emails, and instructions.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office e.g., Outlook, Excel & Word
• Working knowledge of transportation management software is an asset.
