Domestic Operations Manager - Laredo, Texas
BTX Global Logistics is seeking an experienced bilingual Domestic Operations Manager for our Laredo station with a proven track record in freight forwarding and a winning manner with clients and colleagues alike. The Operations Manager position will be based out of Laredo, Texas. To be considered for this position, the candidate MUST have a minimum of five (5) years, hands-on domestic freight forwarding experience and be fluent in both English and Spanish.
The Domestic Operations Manager oversees the operations staff and is a key player of our Operations Team. We're looking for a self-starter, detail-oriented, confident and motivated individual to help ensure that all operations are handled properly and that our customers are happy. Responsibilities Include:
- Oversees and provides pricing information and rate quotes to customers and sales teams
- Knowledge of domestic freight rates & routing (airlines & trucks) a must
- Ensures that all operations staff are properly processing quotes, shipments, and tracking and tracing within company guidelines
- Ensures station conformance standards are being met
- Works closely with the Station Manager on duties that are assigned
- Facilitates relationships between internal station employees and supervisors
- Ensures that the station is in compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Develops growth opportunities with sales team members
- Negotiates pricing with local carriers and vendors
- Other duties as assigned
Summary of Experience and Education:
- Minimum 5 years hands-on operational experience within a freight forwarding environment
- Must have some management experience
- Domestic experience mandatory including routing, documents, AWB preparation, and carrier knowledge
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish
- International experience would be helpful, but not a necessity
- IATA DG certification preferred
