Collections Representative - Shelton, CT
BTX Global Logistics is seeking a talented and professional individual with a track record of success within the global freight forwarding industry. The Collections Representative is responsible for supporting our customer base. This position reports to the Credit & Collections Manager and will support all business units across North America.
The ideal applicant will review the creditworthiness of businesses to determine the risk involved in extending credit. The Collections Representative will be a key member of the BTX Global Logistics team.
Duties Include:
- Responsible for handling accounts in assigned stations
- Call and email regarding past due accounts.
- Monitor and analyze account’s that may require credit holds/increases
- Refers accounts to Credit Department as needed
- Process invoice corrections
- Handle disputes and works with the station to resolve
- Research payments and obtain necessary remittances
- Escalate accounts needing outside collections
- Run and create aging reports for stations and customers
- Create Ad Hoch customer excel reports
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Summary of Desired Qualifications:
- High School degree or equivalent
- 2-5 years of previous Accounts Receivable, Collections, and Customer Service experience
- Experience in a transportation industry and/or call center environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as analysis software
- Basic understanding of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies used in credit analysis
- Ability to identify and investigate discrepancies and problems
- Proven diverse background in all aspects of credit within a logistics environment a plus
