Accounts Receivable/Collections Clerk - Shelton, CT

BTX Global Logistics is seeking a talented and professional individual with a track record of success within the global freight forwarding industry. The Accounts Receivable/Collections Clerk is responsible for supporting our customer base. This position reports directly to the Credit and Collections Manager.


Duties include but are not limited to:
• Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.
• Follows established guidelines to review and update account status.
• Maintains log of payment promises and pertinent account details; schedules follow-up communication with account holder.
• Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
• Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
• Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent account holders to request payment.
• Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.
• Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff.
• Prepares recommendations for increasing or decreasing credit limits based on account holder’s payment history.
• Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Summary of Desired Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum two years of related experience required
• Skilled, courteous, clear and effective communication etiquette in order to satisfy customer needs
• Must possess a superior customer service focus
• Domestic freight forwarding industry knowledge preferred
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently with initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail, self-motivated and detail oriented
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate at all levels, both orally and in written form
• Customer service centric with a positive, outgoing personality
• Technology skills including but not limited to – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and other ERP systems experience a plus
